The “stuffers” phenomenon or how to get rid of your kilos
This new eccentricity, widely taken up in the pages of Grazia (1) , will it arrive in France and Europe? But what are “stuffers”? These are the people who advocate overweight or even obesity in order to be more sexy and desirable. For them, fat and soft bellies are considered attractive and this is what develops their sex appeal.
Does the apology of round shapes combat that of thinness or even anorexia? So far these followers are not too numerous but we have the right to worry. Because in one case as in the other, it is not only a question of aesthetics but indeed of health in question .
Stand out from others at all costs
Thus, after the fashion for redesigned and made-up clavicles ( collarbone contouring ) to ape thinness (2) , the fashion for the gap between the thighs or the thigh gap (3) , a new diktat appears which totally takes the opposite these phenomena which advocate thinness. In the USA these “stuffers” or “gainers” who like to highlight their rolls in order to satisfy their sexual desire are diagnosed by doctors as fetishists. These people like to see themselves fat and find themselves beautiful that way. Why not, but even so, this trend is spreading.
Affirming one’s difference and one’s personality is a self-affirmation technique that is highly fashionable. Young people do not hesitate. Why not just be yourself when losing your pounds requires so much effort, self-sacrifice and constant struggle?
The gainer phenomenon
In order to better understand their operating mechanism, it is useful to identify the way of thinking of these people. “I’m very fat” means “I’m good to eat” and girls who are good to eat become appetizing in the eyes of others. Slack in the stomach and buttocks is therefore desirable. For obesity specialists, the “stuffers” feel a positive and erotic emotion by seeing the deformation of their body take place. They exhibit themselves on the web and thus find social ties.
There are several blogs and sites maintained by these followers of this new movement. Videos are posted advocating overweight, cheerfulness and the satisfaction of being in perfect physical and mental health. And even if this kind of “posts” makes people happy and fulfilled, it is clear that many teenagers with a loss of confidence, victims of eating disorders, become victims. A person who rejoices in substantial weight gain is subject to a sordid fetishism. Fortunately, not all obese people tend towards these excesses.
General and Reminder
We are 48% of us to want to fight against these pesky kilos when we should just sort through the supermarket shelves. But that’s another fight…
France is bogged down in its nutritional messages from the WHO, Mexico is waging war on advertising, Dubai is paying its inhabitants to lose weight , but others are glorifying morbid obesity, putting it in before. This phenomenon is dangerous because let us remember: obesity is a serious disease in the field of public health which represents the 5th global risk factor for death and claims almost three million victims each year. Within 15 to 20 years, the number of overweight people will reach more than three billion individuals. Consider this data.
