After the holiday voucher, make way for the health voucher!
Many employees can now benefit from holiday vouchers, or restaurant vouchers. But nothing, until then, had been planned for health. This is the observation made in 2010 by Vincent DAFFOURD (when he had just contracted a long illness in Asia) and his practitioner Guillaume GALLOIS.
The 2 men then decided to create the first “ health checks ” a few months later. These health checks will be available in France, for, first of all, 10,000 employees from September 2014. And the phenomenon could grow (1) .
How do health checks work?
Health checks will be dematerialized checks. Employees of communities, companies or associations will be able to benefit from it.
The main use will be centered on preventive services such as diabetes, nutrition, obesity , osteopathy… All this independently of Social Security reimbursements.
The company or the Works Council chooses the amount it wants to credit to the health check system for its employees.
The employee recovers the amount in health check on his mobile or on a prepaid card. He then chooses, from a directory established by the ChequeSante.com platform, the professional he wishes to consult and be able to use his balance. The professional debits his patient/client by registering the health check code on the internet or on his mobile (2) .
A phenomenon that could grow.
On average, an entrepreneur would grant a credit of 150 euros for each employee for a year. Despite the youth of this start-up (June 2014) practitioners and unions would have hooked on this new system.
10,000 professionals have already registered on the ChequeSante.com platform, and from September 2014, more than 100,000 employees will be able to benefit from it.
A way to pay more attention to prevention
This system could allow French people, 1 in 3 of whom give up healthcare for lack of money, to be a little more involved in their health, and to focus a little more on prevention.
Remember that this start-up, even before seeing the light of day, had received the 1st prize in the “start-up is in the meadow” competition in December 2012, from the hands of Minister Fleur PELLERIN. In June 2013, they were the favorite of the jury during the Last December, they joined the Montpellier Business and Innovation Center , specializing in new technologies (3) .
