Several conclusions have been reported: for mice that received a high-fat diet, prolonged exposure to UV rays led to a significant reduction in weight gain at first. The mice also developed glucose intolerance, as well as insulin resistance. UV rays also reduce these metabolic reactions due to a diet high in fat and sugars. More extensively, this study confirms that long-term exposure would reduce fasting blood sugar, insulin and various cholesterol levels .
