What is the difference between a detox and a diet?

Detox and diet have been proven to help you lose weight. However, the two methods do not have the same objective at all. Above all, they should not be followed in the same way to avoid health problems. Before testing one or the other slimming technique, it is better to follow some advice according to your objectives and especially your own state of health.

  • However, the cure of fruits and vegetables remains the healthiest method, provided that it is observed only for a few days.

This is the very principle of detox: it must be limited to a given period , generally between two and thirty days. The body does not need more time to naturally evacuate toxins and restore the digestive system.

Unlike the detox, the diet is all  about weight loss . One of the differences between the two is in the duration. A diet can sometimes last several months to several years as part of a change in diet.

Losing weight requires completely reviewing your diet,  acquiring new habits and new reflexes. They will allow the body to function normally and get rid of excess pounds.

Initiating such a change is often much more restrictive than following a detox for a few weeks. For people who really need it, the goal is to regain a healthy weight. The goal of a diet is to lose weight in order to shed extra pounds .

Which choice do you prefer?

If the objective is weight loss, you must first assess your own state of health and the number of kilos that are to be lost.

  • If it is a question of melting the two kilos gained during the holidays and of resuming new habits for the start of the school year, a detox cure will be appropriate. A detox cure of one week will be entirely sufficient. It will restore the digestive system after a prosperous period.
  • If you have more than two kilos to lose and need to review your way of eating, the detox is not really recommended. It is better to turn to the second solution.

Unlike the diet, the detox is a shock cure that can lead to a slight weight loss. However, it also causes small deficiencies, hence the need to follow this diet only for a few days.

A long-term cure, on the contrary, is ideal for changing consumption habits . However, you can start your diet change with a detox for a few days. This will boost your metabolism. If you have more than 10 kilos to lose, however, this technique is not recommended. Indeed, it can lead to great frustration. Better to go slowly to lose weight gradually without endangering your health.
