However, laxatives, in high doses, do not regulate intestinal transit and only weaken intestinal flora and motility. A balanced diet is the best way to end intestinal laziness, starting with the rightdrinks.

ToggleDrinkNo. 1 against constipation: mineral waters
The first drink to favor, when you are constipated, is obviously water. It allows a good lubrication of the stool and prevents it from stagnating in the intestines. This is even more effective if the water is mineralized and strongly endowed with magnesium and sulfates. What for? Sulfates are naturally laxatives and diuretics. As for magnesium, it increases the volume of water in the digestive tract, relaxes the muscles – including those of the intestinal wall – and gently stimulates transit. What aboutthe watersto be preferred? The water of Hépar is certainly the best known, but Contrex, Courmayeur, Rozana, Quézac or Badoit are also interesting.
DrinkNo.2: Cold infusion of flax seeds
This drink, which seems strange at first glance, is a source of benefits in case of constipationtag. Not only does it calm gastrointestinal pain, but it also accelerates transit. To make it, simply grind 5-10 g of flax seeds, mix them with 150 ml of cold water, leave to infuse for 30 minutes and filter everything. Flaxseeds are very rich inmucilages , soft fibers that absorb water and turn into a gel that is both “appetite suppressant” and laxative.
DrinkNo.3: herbal teas
Some plant Infusionscan also be very effective against temporary constipation. The important thing: bet on good herbs, known for their laxative, antispasmodic and depurative action. We think of a multitude of plants, such as ash leaves, marshmallow root, plantain leaves, rhubarb, nettle, dandelion root, rosemary, boldo leaves or buckthorn bark. These plant extracts are to be infused in hot water and to be consumed in reasonable quantities and until the constipation is resolved, but not beyond. Because despite its qualities, herbal medicine is not insignificant.
Beverage # 4 to Fight Constipation: Tea
Whether putting green or black, Teahas many benefits, including that of draining intestinal transit. In question, the theine it contains. Theine is neither more nor less than the caffeine in tea – same molecular structure. The caffeine molecule is made up of 4% theophylline, known to relax smooth muscles, and 12% theobromine, which dilates blood vessels. Moreover, it is absorbed very quickly by the digestive tract, so it acts quickly on the body. Thus, all drinks loaded with caffeine – under the name theine, mateine or guaranine – are laxatives. However, we recommend tea, which is undoubtedly gentler on thestomach than coffee .
Drink # 5 : Vegetable Soup
In the same vein, fruit, vegetable and/or mucilaginous seed smoothies are an excellent way to hydrate, while absorbing your fiber quota. The only downside: they are prepared with raw vegetables, which can ultimately irritate the intestinal wall. It is therefore a question of consuming them sparingly and of alternating with cooked and whole vegetables. Another precision: they are much more interesting than juices, because they presuppose to preserve the pulp of the fruits, where thejuicesare only an extraction of liquid. Among the best anti-constipation recipes:
- the “appetite suppressant” smoothie par excellence, to be made with a piece of Pineapple, 2 dried figs, 2 pitted plums, the juice of an orange and 1 tbsp. at s. wheat bran;
- exotic nectar, to be made with anapple (its pectin is ideal against constipation), 3 slices of ripe papaya (papain is laxative), 100 ml of water and 1 tbsp of agave syrup, for sweetness;
- the green smoothie, to be prepared with a kiwi, a pear, 100 ml of water and 1 tbsp of flax seeds;
- The chia seed drink, renowned for their laxative mucilage, to be made with abanana, 2 kiwis, half an apple and 2 tbsp previously soaked in 200 ml of vegetable milk.
DrinkNo.7: citrus juices
Citrus fruits are rather well endowed with fiber, so they can be foods to consume in case of constipation. In addition, some of them, like grapefruit, contain naringenin, which stimulates the secretion of fluid in the colon. Also, it is advisable to drink citrus juices, taking care not to filter the pulp. A small downside, however:grapefruithas the particularity of inhibiting or multiplying the effect of drugs. If you are under treatment, the juice of this citrus fruit may not be the best option for constipation.
