Presentation of the 2.4.7 diet by Dr. Jacques Fricker

You have a few pounds to eliminate but you come up against the delights that the summer season offers us such as ice cream or grilled meats? What if dieting no longer necessarily rhymed with frustration ?

Doctor Jacques Fricker is a nutritionist at Bichât Hospital. Author of the book “ Weight loss with the 2.4.7 method ” published by Editons Odile Jacob, he was invited to the Télématin program on 08/12/2014, and explains the concept of this new diet to us.

2 meals. First of all, Dr. Fricker explains that starting a diet in the summer can be a good time, because it’s a time when you change your pace, a time when you are among friends and discover the local gastronomy. He advises to have 2 important meals during the day: lunch and dinner .

He points out that most of his patients wishing to lose weight do not wake up hungry in the morning. Dr. Fricker points out that a decade ago, a study showed that it was not good to force people to eat in the morning if they were not hungry, which could affect weight loss. .

He therefore advises, for example, to get up in the morning, do activities on an empty stomach and have a snack around 10:30-11 a.m. Dr. FRICKER even specifies that playing sports on an empty stomach would allow an additional caloric loss of 30 to 40%.

4 snacks a day. Admittedly, it is not recommended to snack between meals. But the snack will be made up of healthy foods such as a banana, yogurt… it is possible to have 4 snacks: one at 10 a.m., one at 4 p.m.…

Doctor FRICKER explains that we can also dine early and have a snack a few hours later. This would promote weight loss. He recalls that an international study had been done on this subject, which showed that people taking 4 to 6 small meals a day were thinner than those taking 3 large meals a day .

How is it actually done ? Doctor Fricker gives an example of a day to set up this diet:

  • Noon: Grills, salad, coffee (with why not a square of chocolate).
  • Snack: 2 peaches or a banana.
  • Dinner: a little starch in this meal (they help you sleep better), starter + main course (no dessert).

Then do an activity after dinner. Go dancing for example. Then you can eat a dessert if you are hungry.

Doctor Fricker reminds all the same that during a diet, crispy foods (such as rice cakes) and mixed foods are not recommended .

In terms of drinks, water, tea and coffee are recommended. A glass of wine a day is also possible.
Beware, however, of sugary drinks , fruit juices and light drinks which do not promote weight loss and do not quench your appetite. Indeed, being fluid foods, they arrive faster in the stomach and do not cut hunger. So they go straight into the butt and belly fat. It is therefore preferable to consume fruits directly.

7 days. Dr. Fricker advises trying this diet over 7-day periods . Indeed, he explains that you have to weigh yourself once a week and readjust your meals for the following week, according to the results of the weighing. The goal is, of course, to reach your ideal weight, which is different depending on the person and their background. The ideal weight is the one in which you feel most comfortable.
