Why should we eat vegetables every day?

You must often hear it said: ”  eat five fruits and vegetables a day” , and you do not necessarily understand the reason. Of course, they are healthy and natural , but they also have properties that other foods do not have.

Eating vegetables promotes the acid-base maintenance of our body, which is extremely important, but also plays a role in our blood system.  Indeed, green vegetables are composed of chlorophyll. However, chlorophyll helps regenerate our blood and improves its quality.
All vegetables are rich in antioxidants, nutrients, vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients. They have the advantage of being low in calories. Their consumption reduces oxidative stress, which corresponds to an imbalance between oxidative waste – free radicals – and antioxidants.

This is the reason why they are widely used during detox cures. Indeed, they help to purify the body by boosting our emunctories. Remember that emunctories are our filter and eliminator organs, they evacuate waste and toxins from our body.

How to eat vegetables?

It may sometimes seem complicated to  eat vegetables , you may think that the preparation is long However, it is much more pleasant to eat very fresh dishes that we have prepared ourselves. It is possible to find fresh and seasonal vegetables very easily. You will find it on the markets, in the fresh sections of supermarkets, in organic stores, at greengrocers…

Try to eat them raw as much as possible. Raw vegetables are considered  living food. Because of this ,  it means that you are eating a food that is unaltered even by cooking.
Fast cooking over low heat can be done, however it must be remembered that heat can alter – or eliminate – certain nutrients such as vitamins or phytonutrients. By consuming them raw as much as possible, you ensure that you provide your body with all their benefits.

Health also involves maintaining what is called  a healthy weight , that is to say the ideal weight in relation to our BMI (Body Mass Index).
